I walked into a ‘Music Store’ yesterday just on the off chance they might have a vintage Martin hanging on the wall for 50 bucks.
Didn’t get quite that lucky, but I did find a very cool Kala. It’s a KA-PWT which is a Pacific Walnut Laminate. Price: $59
It had three strings, all mismatched, but it looked in great condition, a little dusty but no dings or things.
I bought it. Took it home and cleaned it up and strung it with a set of Low G Worth Browns.
It sounds very nice!
Actually quite deep and resonant, not going to throw away my Kamaka, but it is fun to play and hear.
I see Kala sells them for $159. Not a bad little tenor.
For what I paid I’m quite pleased.
