Doggone it, I can't remember when I've heard a more lovely song. Such beautiful chord voicings on the nylon string guitar, tasteful ukulele fills (first time I've seen Taimane playing a soprano!), and an effortless, sincere vocal, just a great combination.
When she performed Maluhia for the Tiny Desk she only did the vocals, with Ramiro Marziani backing her up on guitar. No uke at all in that version, and the stripped-down version is absolutely fantastic.
What school you went? This is a pretty good podcast (I access it on the website), lots of interesting guests. She talks briefly about how she landed on the double low g 5 string. There are a few songs if you go to her playlist on that channel.
