Wow! huge difference
I had wondered why my acacia Bn8-1 was so much lighter and louder than my older mango Bn4-3. I started watching the videos on The Uke Site.
My new acacia Bn4-1 is here and It is a huge step up in volume and clarity in addition to being much lighter than my old mango nui.
My older nui was not quiet but the thinner, graduated top and new bracing on my Bn4-1are a step up. I sold my beautiful mango Bn4-3. It was a great instrument but the newest Pono's are noticably louder, especially the nui's.

I just bought a lattice braced Pono Master Series guilele (mango), and with the Pepe Romero fluorocarbons, it has a beautiful tone with wonderful sustain. I love it! I'm a fingerpicker.

I am very glad you love your new Pono so much. No doubt the lattice bracing and thinned top helps, I'm a big fan. The fact they are two different wood species might have more to do with the difference in weight.

You know the rules.........pictures or it didn't happen :). We love pictures
