KALA defective and warranty question

Poorly packaged demo/display model may have been damaged during shipping? May have been sold "as is" at a discount? Not enough information to speculate further. I'd suggest a bit of patience while dealing with the seller. Give them a fair opportunity to make things right. If they don't make things right there are still options through the shipping company, Kala, the BBB, yelp, social media, and the power of UU?
