Not sure if Enya has a fan base or not but I've seen some of their ukes used in the SOTU's. I just recently got acquainted with them.

I wanted to post something positive regarding the customer service of this company. I told them (emailed) of an issue I was having trouble getting the action where I wanted it on a Enya X4 Pro guitar and the truss rod would go no further. They responded same day, offered (and are now sending) a free new bridge for me to file down which I believe will solve this. It was shocking to get that quick of a response. Great customer service in my book.

I've picked up more Enya's than I want to admit to, having recently found they show up cheap at local online auctions. I'm impressed with their quality and I can get them cheap enough to give as gifts. I have their 3/4 size guitar that is a keeper and a perfect couch guitar -- a more durable GSmini. I have it currently in open E tuning so I can play Suite Judy Blue Eyes :)

The X4 Pro guitar is very impressive. I'd not hesitate to gig or record with it. Acoustic jamming when you have the AcousticPlus gets you surprised looks from other players.

I am not happy with Enya. I had ordered a blue uke for travel and received a white one. After return to Amazon another white appeared and when I contacted Enya they said they would send a blue one directly. But then they couldn't find one and sent me a black one. So now I have have two Enyas in wrong colour and both have slipping C strings and can't be tuned properly. So I contacted customer service again about tuning issue and this is their answer
"We are sorry for the trouble this product has caused you.

Could you try tightening the saddle a little?"

When I responded how exactly this was supposed to be done I didn't get an answer. This was three weeks ago.

Clearly you get what you pay for.

The auction at which I am finding them is Amazon returns which fits in with your anecdote. I haven't worried about them since I got them way less than half price and there have not been any notable playability or tuning issues.

Thanks for providing balance. They made a good first impression on me but I haven't even checked their reviews to see what most people think. When you get that saddle tightened I'd love to hear the story. :D

“Tightening the saddle” sounds like the kind of troubleshooting step I would have come up with a few weeks into my uke journey lol

I am almost embarrassed to say I have 4 Enya ukuleles, had a 5th which I sold to a friend. I had an very small issue with one and like you Enya responded immediately. There has been a fair amount of talk about their excellent customer service.

It's nice to hear you like the guitar, that's been on my radar for a while

@DownUpDave Heavens to Betsy! Nothing to be embarrassed about!

I have an Enya pineapple and an Enya Go guitar, and I bought the Enya Coco for my grandson - an Enya Nova U Mini painted Kiddy style.

I had an HPL tenor in my Amazon cart because it was on sale for $98, but when I went to checkout 2 days later, the sale had ended.

So I'm watching. 👁️

Action is high on both instruments in my possession, not horribly, and I will get around to lowering that. If its an issue on my grandson's Coco - and it probably is but I've not been over there to check it yet - not sure what I might be able to do about it (non-removable saddle). However he is unlikely to be doing a lot of fretting as he is 4 and has eensy hands. I 'spect he'll spend most of his time just strumming with it flat on its back, slide-guitar style.

Actually, now that I think of it, he DOES fret from time to time. Just not on the uke.

I love the pineapple to bits. The only complaint I have - well maybe 2 actually - regarding only the Enya Nova Go - for one thing the fret dots on the side are not actually dots. They are teensy holes in the finish that let the dark underbelly show through. Just waiting to fill up with dead skin cells and bits of crumbling mite integument. I WILL be stickering those things over.

The other is the neck dive issue. "Oh how bad could it possibly be on an instrument that size?" Scoffed I.

I scoff no longer. It IS pretty bad. That neck is WAY heavier than I ever would have thought.

But you know what they say. Adopt adapt and improve. Motto of the round table. (I plan to adapt). Maybe they'll make an HPL version of the Nova Go guitar. All in all, I'm happy. (it does sound great, as does the pineapple)

I'm playing the uke every day, but the steel strings on the Nova Go are too much for me. My hands are well callused, but, it turns out, my fingertips ... not so much. Gotta work up to it.

I have two Enya ukes, a Nova Tenor (which I got because I wanted something essentially indestructible for travelling, which so far it has proved to be) and an EUT-MAD tenor. I really like both of them for different reasons. I bought both from an independent specialist uke retailer though, and that may be the thing... I gather that the Nova can take some work to set up right in particular. And I'm glad that any customer service I might have needed (which, to be fair, in these cases has been exactly none) has been from the independent specialist!

Anyway. This is just a recommendation for Matt at World of Ukes as I like to do when I get the opportunity, because he's helped me make a very pleasing (to me, if not my neighbours) racket over the last three years or so :).

It's interesting, and maybe not so surprising, that experiences vary so much when dealing with a company directly. I think it convinces me if I wasn't convinced already that it's worth the extra to find a local dealer if you can.

@AZChris....when you stumble on one of these you don't want, please message me. Both myself and one of my son's play a GS Mini and I'd like to see one of these at a decent price, electric or no, doesn't matter. Thank you -Keith

My first starter uke was an Enya EUC-25D I bought from Amazon brand new for $50. Just restrung it with worth browns as a matter of fact lol
