Do any modern brands make vintage style ukuleles?

You have a point , but Ko'olau is considered one of the 4K but is also considered more of a custom shop selling ukuleles in the thousands of dollars . And the other K's also have custom shops .
If your talking higher volume , American luthier Donna LoPrinzi has been quoted as saying Kiwaya of Japan makes the best production ukuleles in the world .

Old thread, but Aaron Keim (Beansprout) has made several Kingdom Era-style ukuleles after doing a bunch of research and traveling to Hawaii to view historical examples.
