The success was certainly due to an amazing combination of hard work, talent and the right people and a touch of luck. The unique contributions of the four band members along with the drive of Epstein and the incredible skill of George Martin, who help them hone and polish their musical skills, was like an alignment of the planets.

It underscores for me the stupidity of the US record companies.

There are many instances of musicians and others in the arts who are rejected by the business side who later go on to big success. Often when it is something new, they lack the vision of what it is or could be.
