'Vintage' Gretsch Ukuleles

Long story short - I have my eye on a coupe of older 'vintage' (1930's-1950's) Gretsch ukuleles and was simply wondering if there are any good/bad general characteristics that I should be looking for, and/or asking about, when it comes to purchase.

I think they're pretty well regarded -- Jake Wildwood is a fan -- you should do a search, and you'll hear him play a couple, and talk about them.
