I love my Ponos, personally... I have the tenor version of the uke Vic is showing here, but with a cedar top (AT-CR) that is just awesome sounding and cost me $350 used. For the money you spend, Pono's deliver a lot of sound. It's my "daily driver".
I also have mahogany baritone (PB- ) Pono as well that is also amazing sounding that cost me about the same (used). I love so much I am no longer willing to take it out of the house... it lives on my couch now.
Ponos seem to have this effect on their players...
I have the exact same Pono, it was my first solid wood ukulele. I found it to be really well made and easy to play. Not as loud as a mahogany from a different maker, but so much sweeter sounding. Very nice review.
In one of his video's Alex of SUS opined , Pono MC Mahogany sounds best for strumming , the AC Acacia for fingerpicking .
The boys at TUS/HMS have said the same .
