Side Port Dampener or DIY repair?

The joys of checking in on Goodwill auctions. Check out this Harmony baritone: Rubber sink plug! Brilliant..!! Personally I’d add the ball chain for easy unplugging, also if you wiggle around while playing it’d make random cabasa like sound as it hits against the ukulele body.

WTB: Guitalele / ukitar (Tenor Size). Update: Found!

Just putting this out there to see if anyone has something they're looking to unload that's decent in guitalele tenor size (not baritone though). Trying to avoid the cheap-o brands. Pono and maybe an independent maker are good, Kala/Yamaha/Ohana.. meh... Only dealing with established forum...

Bear Claw or Antarctic Toothfish? I need help.

As I’ve been re-submerging myself into ukedom after ten plus years i find myself more interested in vintage ukes but am still looking for a new one made by an independent maker. I have my sights narrowing down now to a few, but as I’ve been looking at different makers and woods i keep seeing...

What were your most helpful instructional materials for learning ukulele?

I’m curious how many of you learned to play using self guided materials. For me I was gifted a xerox chord chart and sent on my way. A few years later I discovered Jumpin’ Jim books like Tips and Tunes, Ukulele Gems, and 60’s Uke-In, all were valuable for staying on task with familiar songs...

Trusted Japan stores/sellers for USA ukulele purchasers? Suggestions (pro and con)?

I've taken a deep dive into Japanese retailers online and found some "interesting" ukuleles at decent prices, on top of that no tax and most offer free shipping; however my spider senses tingle whenever something seems too good to be true. Out of curiosity, for those who've delved into ukulele...

Best Flea/Fluke like Soprano or Concert Ukulele under $100 +/-? Any suggestions?

I don't want to highjack the other thread about buying overseas ukes for practice or the one about plastic ukulele's and their merits as legitimate instruments, so I'm starting a different one, it's related but not the same and depends on user experience. I owned a pineapple flea or fluke the...
