    Baritone fretboard

In the end I got an amateur woodworker to make one for me out of some scrap wood he had. I had to buy some fret lengths which I had to cut and fit. It took some practice before getting the right size blade to make a snug fit but it’s an acquired skill which needs about 6 or 7 goes to perfect the...

OK thanks, I’ll work on those measurements.

    Baritone uke bridge etc

What is the normal distance between the strings at the bridge on a baritone uke. When I search for a baritone bridge on eBay there are no dedicated ones for baritones but surely the strings are further apart than on the smaller ukes.

    OK, fair enough, good point.

    DIY Baritone

My only reason for considering putting the sound hole behind the bridge would be for a more balanced look in order to fill the large area of the lower bout. Actually it doesn’t have “bouts” as such because it is pineapple shaped. Bracing wouldn’t be a problem but I would be interested to know...

    DIY Baritone

I have got over the fretboard problem of a couple of weeks ago. Is there any technical...

    Baritone fretboard

Yes, I took my 19” scale from a friends factory made job but nothing is definite at this stage, I’ll see what turns up.

    Baritone fretboard

To find a finished baritone fretboard is the Holy Grail. At this stage I’m not too fussy about type of wood.

    Baritone fretboard

Yes, I like that idea! I have got a local uke/guitar guru on the case as well and unless he can come up with anything easier which I doubt, I’ll take your advice. Thanks.

    Baritone fretboard

Thanks for that helpful info. I’ve got one or two people in the uke world on my case and if nothing comes of them I’ll be back to talk to you again.

    Baritone fretboard

Thanks for the replies. I don’t want to spend much on any component for this experimental first build as it may end up as firewood! However, if all else fails Brian’s solution may be the only one open to me.

    Baritone fretboard

I have just started a DIY baritone design of my own but I don’t want to make the fretboard myself. I’ve searched all the UK eBay sites but can’t find a baritone fretboard complete with frets. Where can I get one? Franklin.
