Do ukulele players have favorite key signatures, for ease of playing?

Watch the video I posted if you haven't already. I certainly learned something from it and it's not the first time I've seen it.

Season 636 - One for sorrow...

Holy moly! Wishing you a speedy recovery....that doesn't look good nor does it sound pleasant in the slightest

Season 637 - Here and Now

Oooooh. I might actually have something for this season. I haven't been feeling too inspired the past week or so (haven't even picked up most of my instruments save for one guitar practice where I tried to play Robot Rock, but the descending line is still a bit too difficult for me). Oh...

New Uke Day (NUD) Koa Ko'olau Concert from Kaneohe to Osaka

Darkglass pedals for bass is worth looking into. Also, if you want something completely different: I'll probably end up with a Dusk pedal soon enough.

New Uke Day (NUD) Koa Ko'olau Concert from Kaneohe to Osaka

Great choice with the RC-500. Boss loopers are the best. Everyone really could benefit from having one. It really does force you to be better at being more accurate at rhythm and absolutely helps you develop improvising on top. That and it just makes playing so much more fun! I hope you're...

Agree with this. I'm actually shocked you haven't also started getting pedals for your U-bass. 👀

Congrats on the new uke! I knew you were on a slippery slope the moment you started asking about ukes while on vacation. lmao

My progress on the uke - u/ukudancer aka Arvin's Electric Ukulele Land (which I thought was a fun play on the Hendrix album)

A lot of uke players get their inspiration from the likes of Jake, Feng E, Brittni, etc. I generally get my inspiration from guitar and keyboard players (I also watch a lot of drummers and bassists). But this band continually inspires. Not only are they all technically fantastic, but I love...

    SOTU 635: Castles

I'm always happy to do the heavy lifting. I don't get to edit fun stuff like this in my real job anymore, so these are always a treat for me. If you ever have a song you want to do, just message me and we'll go from there.

Do ukulele players have favorite key signatures, for ease of playing?

The singer has the hardest job, so they pick the key for me and I accommodate them when I collaborate online with other musicians. If I'm playing all the parts, I usually go for the original key.

    SOTU 635: Castles

I wasn't expecting many to pick this one to perform as it cleverly fits the theme with Castillo. :) Super glad to have @UkerDrew on board for this George Ezra tune. The moment I thought of doing this song for the season, I heard Andrew's voice in my head and thought it go over well if he...

    How large is your Ukeverse?

UU Seasonistas on YouTube ukulele sub-reddits I also follow 2 or 3 uke related Facebook groups I don't really shop ukes anymore and I don't do ukulele meetups. I do collaborate and play / arrange songs online with other ukulele players all over the world, so I guess that compensates for my...
