Can we think of a way to, in essence, vouch for the builders we have dealt with? So if someone is considering working with Luthier X, they can ask questions of someone who has already dealt with that luthier. Or maybe that would be one of the purposes of the Owner's Club forums?

I think I agree with @kerneltime and would go ahead and complete the purchase. Considering your deposit is a sunk cost, you're buying two ukuleles for $330 total at this point.

Many congrats! I have a Special Issue with no unibrace and with solid lining. I'm guessing the same with a Red Label? Mine has transverse braces either side of the sound hole, a bridge patch, and then wide but thin center strips - and that's it! Similar?

I think they said recently that the mics are Josephson C617s.
