    Gig Bags & Cases?

Huh, good idea. I did find a bag in the UK (I'm in the US) but $265 and nearly $100 shipping - I think my Ubass Journeyman cost $320.

    Gig Bags & Cases?

While we are talking cases, has anyone ever seen a dual case that would fit a tenor and a Ubass? Preferably not a hard case but maybe a step up from a gigbag. I'm flying out to the Reno Uke Fest in October and I really want to take the bass classes offered but my main uke is a tenor. I can't...

    The Case Thread

Speaking of cases - I have a tenor Uke Crazy case that has the two D rings on the back - looking to buy something that uses those D rings and makes the case into a backpack. Have hunted the internet and can't find anything that's not really awkward. Anyone happened on something that works well?

    Best sounding cedar tenor uke?

So the theory of cedar top instruments seems to be that the sides and back are a much harder, denser wood, like rosewood. What is the tone difference going to be (well, your guess, anyway) between all cedar and cedar top, "other" sides and back?

    Best sounding cedar tenor uke?

I bought a Kala cedar top, pau ferro sides and back (KA-ASCP-T, I think). Slotted headstock. Love that it is matte (not a fan of gloss, although my primary instrument is gloss). Had it for abut a week before I decided that the gold tuners were kinda garish and bought a set in satin nickel to...

Questions on Accessorizing my Tiny Tenor: Buttons and Bags, Oh My!

I have a spalted mango TT - I use the original Romero Creations gig bag when I am going to the 2 local weekly uke events here (where the uke just goes from the car to the rehearsal room). When I travel, I have one of the Uke Crazy bags, tenor size, that I use for a bit more protection and...

    Arm bevels?

Having briefly played mandolin (before I realized a metal allergy and those thin, very high tension strings tore my fingertips up) I've always thought it was interesting that mandolinists go to such efforts to make sure their bodies don't damp the instruments (the metal "cage" on the back and...

UAS: Stand Strong or Give In to Passion?

I've bought a few that I thought I'd enjoy more than I do - those are headed off to Reverb, I think. An Ohana guitarlele, an Enya Nova Pro, a Cocobolo tenor. I did give in the other day and buy a used Kala banjolele that was inexpensive enough that I don't care that it'll never be my "main" uke...

Have you ever given a Uke to someone else?

A friend of mine teaches guitar, bass and ukulele and I gave him a uke to give to one of his students.

    The "Best" Tuner

What I don't like about the Peterson is that it is so massive sitting on a little uke headstock plus all the spinning columns. It also eats batteries (of course, this one is the spouse's and probably 10-11 years old, which says a lot about its staying power). As far as ear tuning - I frankly...

    The "Best" Tuner

I have had a bunch of Snarks, which were okay. I had a Fender Bullet tuner, which I found not very accurate (I always check the tuning by ear after using a tuner and the Fender took tweaking) and it died the true death in about 3 months. A friend talked me into the Snark Air, which I find...

    Thinking about getting a pad

Just got an ipad (12.9") and my group suggested Songbook Pro. I input probably 250 songs from the group I just joined's songbooks and I have to say my reaction is ... mixed, for a couple reasons: Hardware: I tested the software on a the new ipad, an Android tablet, a Windows laptop and a...

Simple 2 track video recording/editing software

Thanks for the answers! Will look at Premier Pro. I have also gotten a recommendation for VSDC editor and Adobe Premier. I don't mind paying a reasonable amount for an editor - doesn't have to be free, but I would like easier to use.

Simple 2 track video recording/editing software

I am a beginner, taking video lessons. I want to be able to record myself playing uke and then do a separate recording of me singing as, at this point, I can do one or the other reasonably well but not both. I'd like to record both in a video format and edit them together, synced. I have a...

    Modifying case for Tiny Tenor

I have a Romero Creations Tiny Tenor and I'd like a more substantial case than the basically padded gig bag it comes with. I also have a tenor-sized Uke Crazy case but the Tiny Tenor doesn't fit well due to the double bout shaped interior of the case. Has anyone ever modified one of these cases...
