What a delightfully weird instrument. I want one!

Meet the langeleik, a zither with 7 drone strings. I'd love to get my hands on one. I'm toying with vague fantasies of building my own modified one with just 3 or 4 strings in some dark creepy tone cluster.

We have one, its right over there on top a cabinet in it's green case.

My spouse knows how to play it a little bit.....she's like that.....pick up an instruments with strings and she'll figure it out.....helps that she plays a hardingfele as well....she knows the music and the rhythms

My mother in law bought it oh maybe 15 years or so ago....

I've seen them played live by musicians who know how....

I think Imma buy one when I can afford to splurge on a musical instrument again.

Still want to try making my own custom Voranistic sounding one. Complete with dark creepy tone cluster tuned drone strings.

Might try making a kantele first.. they are a bit smaller. I don't think they have drone strings though if my memory is correct. Haven't seen one in person is while.
