Upgrading tuners to Grover 6

If I wanted to upgrade from Grover 2 friction tuners to Grover 6, would I have to widen the holes in the headstock?

Probably not. I’ve upgraded several ukes from 2s to 6s. Most of the time, the swap was immediate. Other times, I needed to open the post hole very slightly with a reamer (about $10 at a hardware store). After a few gentle passes, the new tuner post went in perfectly. You’ll appreciate the difference!

Someone on the forum was kind enough to offer me a set of 6B tuners they never got around to installing. Mahalo!

Does anyone know where I might find compatible custom tuner buttons, if I don’t like how the black ones look on a new Martin S1?
