Often when I write a song with my partner, it starts with with my writing a bass part and then adding a vocal track and then letting my writing partner take over adding everything else, as here he added drums and rhythm and lead guitar parts. I don’t worry about chords or any of that jazz. He has perfect pitch and quite an ear.

We do this all on line as I’m in Hawaii and he’s in Berkeley. I’m 70 and he’s 27. Copacetic imho.

I record my vocal and bass on Garage Band using presets and tweaking the plugins, EQs , etc.. Nothing too complicated. I prefer making music to fooling around with computer crap.

What my buddy, Jordan, does on his end probably involves a more professional DAW, and boxes. I prefer not getting involved with those technical issues.

I do the mixing of all tracks in Garage Band. I send him my tracks and he sends me back his and then I mix. Fun. Can’t stop.
