Lyrics:

She is dressed in midnight-colored satin
Her fingers adorned with webs of blue and grey silk
Dance slippers carved from nautilus shell
Rubies mined from the abyssal plains

How is it, I ask her, that you spin so deftly in the ocean gyre

And she says: Follow me into the sea
Bow your head before great Poseidon
Dare to wake the eight-limbed one from his sleep
Follow me down to the earth's core
Down to a place where the ground fractures
Watch liquid fire spill out to the ocean floor

He is dressed in shimmering black and grey leather
The muscles of his neck roil like serpents' coils
He loops and twists, his liquid body roiling
He seems to be made of living mercury

Where, I ask him, do you find such elegance and power

And he says: Follow me into the sea
Bow your head before great Poseidon
Dare to wake the eight-limbed one from his sleep
Follow me down to the earth's core
Down to a place where the ground fractures
Watch liquid fire spill out to the ocean floor

You are water...and to water you shall return...

Not to be trite nor even amphitrite but I like seeing some allusions to Poseison as the gaieochos, the earth-shaker as I've always been intrigued with how the ocean is connected to earthquakes in the mind of the ancients.

Thanks. Imma play this one next open mike.

How are you received at the open mike? When I play Go To the High Tower it raises the brow of my wife, but I think that's because she is more used to our customary musical fare such as a black sabbath, Dio, Queensryche, etc.

A couple of thoughts, the lyrics are really good, and the fact that you took a Hawaiian instrument and make the most “un-Hawaiian” music is actually pretty impressive. As a songwriter myself, who admittedly writes pretty by the numbers tunes, I admire you doing you’re own thing.

Usually people seem to enjoy my music. I play for passing tourists sometimes too when out on hikes.

I changed roil to ripple as I realized I've used the word roil twice. Still pretty proud of this.
