Congratulations Jim. Nice review. You got the best of both to play.

I have a tenor scale Southern Cross. It's terrific.

Because of the weight, I use a NeoTech banjo strap on it. It really helps if you stand while playing. I also use a Deering Banjo wrench to tighten the head. It fits really well. But a deep socket will also work.

My ratchet strap works OK, but yeah, it's not very befitting of such a fine instrument. :)
I do need to see about tightening things up.

Hey Jim,
Nice to see the SC in good hands. The tension hooks do tend to work loose over time, just tighten them evenly 1/4 to 1/2 a turn at a time and use the clock face method of tightening. I'm sure you know how to do that, but google as always is ready and willing to help. I hope you get many years of enjoyment out of the instrument.
Kind Regards
Dennis (Currently at the bottom of the South Island)

Congratulations Jim, that is one beautiful banjouke. If I could afford one, that's what it would be!
