Kala KOA-B Koa Baritone

Afternoon,

Has anyone played one of these new baritones from Kala? Attached demo from YouTube sounds like it is a bit flat compared to others in same price range. Truss rod is a nice addition from what I have read in the forums on other Baritones. I'm still holding out to purchase a Mainland mango baritone, but listen to every other one I come across for comparison.

A Mainland bari would really be nice. A friend of mine bought a Pono bari, costs a bit more, and I like it. I played it yesterday in the park, and it sounds great. Ponos have a truss rod.

Not played the kala but I have an ohana 70rb that I think is outstanding. Guess it counts on what you are looking for.

hmm, rule of thumb is that if it doesn't say "solid", it is almost certainly a laminate. Not saying that's bad, but if you're expecting K-brand (you know what I mean - *real* K-brand ;-) ) quality on this one, think again.
