Don't be scared, just be GONE. If you need to be, that is. In Zhills, you are pretty much in the expected path of the storm, but you're far enough inland that it should have lost some strength by the time it gets there. It'll still be plenty windy and wet, though!

If you're in a mobile home, we shouldn't be having this conversation. GO!

If you're not in a mobile home and not in a flood prone area... you'll probably be okay. Board up if you can. Secure anything that's outdoors.

To a Floridian, "it's just another storm". A big one, yes. But, it's just a storm. Do what you need to do and hope for the best!



There are shelters available pretty much everywhere. Look one up if you're not in a safe place. Be aware, of course, that wherever you evacuate TO could just as well be where the storm goes. So, at least be sure that you're evacuating to some place that's safer than where you are. Better structure, better location, etc.

You're acting a lot like this is your first storm.

By "be gone", I mean if you don't feel safe where you are, which is what you've said... be gone from that place. You obviously have an internet-enabled device and know how to use it. Find a shelter. If you need transportation, I'm sure that is available, too.

But, trust me... you're not going to find the help you seek... on a ukulele forum.

The storm won't hit your area hard until Wednesday afternoon. You've got well over 24 hours to figure this out, if you really need to. Sooner is better than later.

Florida has shelters. Our county has 16 of them. If you can't drive to one, call 911 and say you need help getting to a shelter. Above all, calm down.

Ukuevey, I trust you have taken the sound advice that has been offered. Here in England we are getting reports of the storm making landfall in your State. It does sound very serious. I hope you are now safe and secure with supportive people and are able to ride out the storm.

Mudslides are the offsprings of the fires, generally. But we could coastal erosion and structures falling into the ocean as well.

Ukuevey, I just saw this thread and hope you and your family are okay. Obviously, any advice offered Tuesday was most likely too late to be meaningful.

We are thinking about you and hope you and our other members in Florida and other states in the path are safe and sound. Please let us know your status when you can. But save your batteries for other more important things.
