I've read extensively on the American Civil War and every now and then a lyric jumps out. This is an historically accurate tale of the 20th Maine's defense of Little Round Top, July 2, 1863, the second day of the fight at Gettysburg, PA. Commanded by a university professor, Col. Joshua Chamberlain, the 20th repelled four Confederate attacks and held the left flank of the Union position.
