Hi all. I'm new to the world of uke basses.
I bought a Kala scout fretless that came with Thunderblack strings and I wanted to switch to the Thunderbrowns. So I bought a set and promptly ruined the E string.
Is it possible to buy a single string? I've been looking with no luck.

I've not seen them available as singles, but ask KohanMike for a more thorough answer.

I'd give a phone call to Kala ( not an email ). I bought a Kala Bass Kakithi Kumalo Signature model from Uke Republic. It came with wound strings...the noise really annoyed me. At the recommendation of a UU member, I ordered some Thunder Browns. They are much thicker and I didn't want to modify the nut, so I called Kala for a replacement nut (sold specifically for the Thunder line which they speck on many of their Bass'). When I told them I like the two upper strings, they readily offered selling me just the two lower strings! Worth a try. Maybe tell them you've mangled the set and beg for empathy!

Call a specialty string store such as Strings By Mail or Strings and Beyond.

How did you ruin the E string ?

Perhaps you can hang a weght on it to stretch it to a sufficient length? There's certainly a lot of latent length in them.
